If Kellen Winslow’s goal was to tick off everyone in the greater Cleveland area, boy is he doing a great job.
The tight end with the “is it testicular cancer, Elephantiasis, cancer, an STD” illness that now is being explained as another staph infection (one thing the Browns can win) shot off some remarks about General Manager Phil Savage that aren’t sitting well with the management.
Head coach Romeo Crennel said today that Winslow been in the hospital for the staph infection and may have said some things he didn’t really mean. No matter if he meant them or not, Winslow might face some consequences for his chatter about Savage.
“Sometimes the emotions of the game and the emotions of your personal situation kind of overflow,” Crennel said. “So I think he probably said some things that he didn’t need to talk about to the media.”
“We’ll investigate it and determine if anything needs to be done,” Crennel said. “My policy is to keep family business in the family. So whatever I do, I do and I’m not going to broadcast it.”
