A few days ago, Braylon Edwards hobbled to the hospital to get some stitches in his foot. Apparently, while jogging shoeless at practice, teammate/hitman Donte’ Stallworth gashed Edwards with his cleats.
Edwards is fine and he should be ready in plenty of time for the season opener, but according to the ’s Maria Ridenour, Stallworth’s teammates (those still able to walk, anyway) have been dusting off the Nancy Kerrigan/Tonya Harding jokes. Ah, early-90s Olympic humor, that never gets old.
Meanwhile, Stallworth is very sad about the whole thing: ”It was one of those things in hindsight you wish you could take back. But he’ll be all right,” Stallworth said Tuesday.
Stallworth said he visited Edwards and: ”It was pretty tough. He was fine, he was smiling and everything. I was more down than he was. I think I was more hurt than he was. He was cheering me up; that felt kind of awkward.” It’s just a good thing Stallworth didn’t punch Edwards in the face. He could’ve died, which would’ve been NO LAUGHING MATTER! Just ask this dude.
