Derek Anderson will be the first person to admit it isn’t 2007 anymore. The Browns starting quarterback, at least for another day, has his team in an 0-3 hole and has just about everyone asking the obligatory question, “When will we finally get to see Brady Quinn?”
The thing is, even Anderson understands how bad it’s been.
“I’m not going to say I’m not [fighting for it], because I’m not playing good,” Anderson said. “I’ve just got to keep playing. I’ll continue to work and I’ll come through it and be fine, but I’ve got to continue to get better.” By “getting better,” he means not being outperformed by a rookie quarterback for the Ravens that had a Sunday quarterback rating of 47.8 which was what Anderson finished with. He threw for 125 yards, was sacked five times and threw three interceptions in the loss. A Pro Bowl appearance just a season ago, Anderson looks more like the 213th pick out of Oregon State and less like the guy that led the Browns to their best record since 1994.Continue Reading
