--Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell will be in Browns' rookie minicamp as a tryout player. The irony of that is the Browns passed on Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree in the draft reportedly because they did not like his cocky attitude.
-- Four minicamps are scheduled for the Browns before they report to training camp in late July. The rookie minicamp will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Players will be in helmets but no other pads.
Two voluntary full-team minicamps are scheduled for later this month - one May 19-21 and May 26-28. A mandatory full-squad minicamp is set for June 11-13.
--Braylon Edwards has been a no-show during the Browns offseason program in recent days. The program is voluntary, so there is no way coach Eric Mangini can order Edwards to attend.
"Braylon has been in for part of the offseason program and he hasn't been in for another part," Mangini said. "There's no deeper meaning to that."
There had been speculation Edwards' agent, anticipating a trade to the Giants, told Edwards to stay away to avoid possible injury. The trade was not made. There was also speculation Edwards was staying away in protest.
