Another Jet joins Browns -- 8:39 p.m.

In an attempt to shore up their defensive line, the Cleveland Browns have signed a player familiar to new coach Eric Mangini.

Defensive lineman C.J. Mosley signed with the Browns on Friday. He spent the past three seasons with the New York Jets, where he played for Mangini, formerly the head coach, along with several of Mangini's assistants who are also now with the Browns.

Mosley entered the league as a sixth-round draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2005 after playing in his home state at the University of Missouri. Mosley was traded to the Jets during training camp in 2006 and played 35 games over the past three seasons for New York, making three starts and recording five sacks.

Cowboys sign DE Olshansky -- 7:42 p.m.

The Dallas Cowboys signed defensive end Igor Olshansky to a four-year deal Friday.

Terms were not released.

The unrestricted free agent, a second round pick for the San Diego Chargers in the 2004 draft, played five seasons with the Chargers. He started in 70 regular season games, recording 187 tackles, nine sacks and interception and six pass breakups.

Chiefs agree to deals with safety, LB -- 6:58 p.m.

The Kansas City Chiefs agreed to terms with safety Jon McGraw and linebacker Darrell Robertson on Friday.

McGraw has had 12 starts in 86 games in his seven NFL seasons with the New York Jets, Detroit and Kansas City, where he played in the 2007-08 season.

Robertson, who spent time on the New England practice squad in 2008, originally entered the NFL in 2008 as a rookie free agent with Dallas. He also played two games last year for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League.

Vikes re-sign special teamer -- 5:35 p.m.

The Minnesota Vikings have re-signed linebacker and special teams standout Heath Farwell. Terms of the deal announced Friday were not disclosed.

Farwell has been one of the team's most productive players on the kick coverage and return units since 2005. He tore the ACL in his right knee in the first exhibition game last August and missed the entire 2008 season.

Meanwhile, the Vikings surrendered an NFL-record seven special teams touchdowns. Full story ...

Eagles fill Dawk's shoes, sort of -- 3:58 p.m.

Safety Sean Jones signed a one-year, free-agent contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday, helping fill the void created by Brian Dawkins' departure.

A second-round pick by Cleveland in 2004, Jones played five seasons with the Browns. He was mostly used as a strong safety, but his playmaking skills make him a potential replacement for Dawkins at free safety.

Jones may have to beat out second-year pro Quintin Demps for the spot. Full story ...

Bengals find backup QB -- 1:09 p.m.

The Cincinnati Bengals have signed quarterback J.T. O'Sullivan to back up injured quarterback Carson Palmer. The Bengals didn't release terms of the contract Friday.

They are counting on Palmer's return from an elbow injury last season, but needed a backup after Ryan Fitzpatrick left for Buffalo as a free agent. The 29-year-old O'Sullivan started the first eight games for San Francisco last season. He also spent time with New Orleans, where he was picked in the sixth round of the 2002 draft. Full story ...
