Brett Favre said he hasn't decided if he will return to the Jets next season but the health of his right (throwing) shoulder could be a factor. Favre, 39, has one touchdown pass and six interceptions in his past four games, in which New York is 1-3. "(The shoulder) has been hit a couple of times," Favre said. "I don't know. I mean, just knowing my body, there may be something, but there's no test yet to reveal anything." Favre said he hasn't had the shoulder examined but will after the season. "I don't want to make a big deal of it," he said. "And obviously, I don't want to make excuses, because I feel like I can make every throw."
Browns turn to Gradkowski at QB
Ex-Bucs QB Bruce Gradkowski will start for the Browns on Sunday at the Steelers, the team said Wednesday. Gradkowski, who grew up in the Pittsburgh area, appeared in 13 games (11 starts) for Tampa Bay as a rookie in 2006, with nine interceptions and nine touchdowns. The sixth-round draft pick appeared in four games last season and was released during the offseason. The Browns signed him Dec. 2 after Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson suffered season-ending injuries. And Sunday against the Bengals, Ken Dorsey sustained a rib injury and a mild concussion.

Snow angel costs Patriot $10,000
New England receiver Wes Welker was fined $10,000 by the NFL for making a snow angel Sunday. Welker was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct for lying in the snow beyond the end line and flapping his arms after scoring a touchdown in the first half of the Patriots' 47-7 rout of the Cardinals. League spokesman Corry Rush said Welker was fined for unsportsmanlike conduct for participation in an illegal demonstration by going to the ground. After the victory, Welker said, "I just got a little bit too excited there. I really didn't think it would be a penalty. I wouldn't have done it if I thought it was."
