Injury report: McGahee looks to return
What a week!

It wasn't just a week filled with injuries. We've come to expect that on a regular basis. No, we watched a boatload of "name" players appear on the crawl this weekend, leaving us invoking Goldberg by screaming "Who's next?"

FOX Fantasy Football

The Baltimore Sun reports running back Willis McGahee completed Thursday's practice and now appears set to rejoin the Ravens backfield. Remember, he also gets an extra day of rest with the Week 2 game against Houston being moved to Monday night. Impact: Cam Cameron advised that McGahee will likely be part of a timeshare and will not be overloaded in his first game back. Ray Rice and Le'Ron McClain will also see carries. Don't get too anxious about putting him back into the lineup, as this isn't the same situation as Week 1 against Pittsburgh. The Texans will work to stop the run and force Joe Flacco to beat them downfield. You might see a short field or two off Houston turnovers, but there's still too much risk with this situation. Hold back to make sure he's ready to resume a full workload.

The Houston Chronicle reports that Texans tailback Ahman Green's been in a boot to protect his injured ankle. He isn't expected to participate in Week 2 against Baltimore. Impact: Green's out with an injury and Chris Brown was already placed on injured reserve. As such, the Texans take on a very difficult matchup against the Ravens with an inexperienced, albeit intriguing, duo of Steve Slaton and Chris Taylor. Slaton ran well during the preseason and shouldered the bulk of the load in the blowout loss to Pittsburgh in Week 1. I suspect we see more of Taylor and perhaps a bit of Darius Walker (he ran well in limited duty last year and has been activated from the practice squad). If forced to make a call, then Slaton's your guy. Just don't slide him into your lineup unless absolutely necessary against my hero, running back-swallowing lineman Haloti Ngata, and this Baltimore defense.

Finally, I won't recount the details of the strange and winding tale of Tennessee quarterback Vince Young. I'll take the short tale. He sustained a knee injury and will likely miss the next month at a minimum. He then has to repair broken relationships with his teammates and coaching staff, a divisive force that may not be able to be overcome. Impact: Veteran Kerry Collins steps into the lineup and immediately upgrades the downfield passing game. Justin Gage leaps back onto the radar as a top "watch" player for this weekend. In fact, gutsy fantasy owners may role the dice and insert both Collins and Gage immediately to take advantage of a poor Cincinnati defense. Gage performed well when Collins was under center in 2007. Collins is an injury replacement candidate off the wire, as he knows how to direct traffic. This game's still predicated on head-busting defensive play and a strong running game, but they now add the element of the forward pass.

To throw out that famous Swingers line once more, "Who's the big winner?" Look no further than rookie tailback Chris Johnson. He demonstrated great power and speed against a good Jacksonville defense and showed he can make plays as a receiver out of the backfield. LenDale White's still going to play a role, but I believe Johnson wins the lion's share of the workload, and that portends to a monster day against the Bengals. He's a household name after this one.
