A Miami-Dade County judge on Monday approved Stallworth's request for Thursday's one-day trip. The reason for the visit was not disclosed at a brief hearing, and Stallworth's attorney declined comment.
The 28-year-old Stallworth is charged with driving drunk March 14 when he struck and killed 59-year-old Mario Reyes. Stallworth faces a maximum 15-year prison sentence if convicted. An arraignment hearing is set next week for Stallworth to enter a plea.
Stallworth must submit to random drug and alcohol testing under his bail requirements. He is free on $200,000 bail.
