Late safety honored by Redskins
Announced one last time as the "starting free safety" for the Washington Redskins , Sean Taylor was inducted into the team's Ring of Fame before Sunday's game against the New York Giants . With his mother, father, girlfriend and daughter huddled under umbrellas near the center of the field, Taylor's name was unveiled on the upper-level facade of FedEx Field, joining 42 other Redskins greats.

His father, Pedro Taylor, told the crowd that his son used to say of the fans: "When you guys make the stadium rock, he begins to rock."

"Right now," Pedro Taylor said, "Sean is rocking in heaven."

After the ceremony, the public address announcer said: "Starting at free safety for your Washington Redskins , No. 21, Sean Taylor." Running back Clinton Portis, Taylor's close friend, then ran onto the field carrying a large burgundy flag with a gold No. 21.

? With four games left in the season, Browns fans can add the team's top two quarterbacks -- youngster Brady Quinn and veteran Derek Anderson -- to the pile of potential signal callers that for one reason or another, just haven't been able to get the job done in this blue-collar town. A finger injury that will probably require surgery did in Quinn last week against Houston. And when Anderson went down with a potential season-ending knee injury late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 10-6 loss to Indianapolis, that left the game in the hands of Ken Dorsey. With Anderson limping around with what he described as at least "a strained MCL" that will be evaluated further today, it sounds as if the Browns are prepared to let Dorsey play out the string. When asked whether Dorsey would start at Tennessee on Sunday, embattled Browns coach Romeo Crennel said simply: "Looks like it."

? Browns tight end Kellen Winslow, already playing with a sprained right shoulder, left yesterday's game against Indianapolis with an injured ankle. Winslow was hurt on the first play of the second half while blocking on a running play. He was helped to his feet but walked to the sideline without assistance and was taken to the locker room for X-rays.

? The pain in Trent Edwards' sore groin grew worse with each step he took, forcing the Bills starter to the sideline midway through a 10-3 loss to San Francisco yesterday that all but dashed what's left of Buffalo's playoff hopes. And it's unclear whether Edwards will be healthy in time to play next weekend when Buffalo hosts Miami at Toronto. "As of right now, I have no idea," Edwards said. "We're going to have to re-evaluate it again tomorrow." Edwards characterized the injury as either a pull or a strain. Edwards went 10-of-21 for 112 yards before being replaced by J.P. Losman for the start of the second half.
